We started this journey back in 2010 and it's been quite a ride so far. Our first EP "Helfärd" was written and recorded in a very spontaneous fashion, meaning me (Heljarmadr) and Dimman with a bag of cold beers and too many cigarettes in a dark and damp rehearsal room in Stockholm. We were both in Cursed 13 at the time, but felt the urge to explore a more primitive and old school style of writing. There and then "Helfärd" was written and recorded and Grá was born. As a statement, and as a tribute to the early 90's black metal that shaped who we are as musicians.
Looking back at it, 15 years later, we are still very proud of what we've created and it was the start of a new path for us. As we are approaching our 5th full length album (to be released by Avantgarde Music during 2026 if things go as planned), we felt that we should revisit the song "Krämpor och Kval", which was the first one we wrote for the EP. Originally this re-recording was intended as a bonus track for the next album, but as we realised that we do celebrate 15 years of Grá now, we felt that it deserves to be unleashed now rather than later. To stand as a monument in time, and a celebration to the past.
